TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; CHORDATA; GNATHOSTOMATA (Jawed Vertebrates); PISCES; OSTEICHTHYES; Perciformes; Blennioidei; BLENNIIDAE. COMMENT: $Blennius saliens@ Forster 1788 is also valid for $Alticus saliens@. It is unclear why the authority is given to Lacepede 1800.[GM&FS99]
