COMMON NAMES: Redbanded Wrasse, Red-breasted Maori Wrasse, Redbreasted Wrasse; German Rotbrust-Lippfisch; French Labre Rayée, Labre à Poitrine Rouge

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Samoa - Cooks; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group, uncommon; N.Group to AK, very common. PLUS:; Marine, near-shore, lagoons and outer reef-slope

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Poor food

KEY FEATURES: Little change with age or sex.
