GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Indonesia - Tuamotus; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; PLUS: S.Group and N.Group. Common. Outer reef-slope to 20 metres, usually 1m above substrate.; Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: To 6cm SL.(RM91) [ 9cm - GBR]

SIMILAR SPECIES: See under Half-and-half Chromis (Chromis iomelas), which is dark with a white hindbody.
