Vouchers:
Rarotonga: one bird reported by Jake Numanga 13 May 1992, filmed at Panama swamp 18 May, and seen by Ed Saul on Raemaru in early June, a young bird with dark red-brown plumage on beast and belly, ID by Ed Saul as Circus aeruginosus; in July a woman shot a hawk molesting her chickens, and there was an unsubstatiated report of 3 hawks seen in July. ‘Ātiu: occasionally hawks visit the island and attack chickens, reported by informants to G.McCormack in mid-1980s. Ma‘uke: occasionally hawks visit the island and attack chickens, reported by informants to G.McCormack in mid-1980s. Pukapuka: informants at NBSAP workshop 2004 reported that a harrier had been shot on the island about 30 years ago, c.1970 (G.McCormack).
