Entomacrodus striatus (Valenciennes, 1836)
SYNONYMS: Entomacrodus plurifilis [Schultz et.al. 1960, JSB&CM 1974]; Salarias striatus [O]
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; CHORDATA; GNATHOSTOMATA (Jawed Vertebrates); PISCES; OSTEICHTHYES; Perciformes; Blennioidei; BLENNIIDAE
IDENTIFICATION: Blunt-faced blenny to 11cm. Body cream with black spots, the larger ones forming ~4 blotches. Head and face with small dark spots and a dark network leaving white spots. Dorsal fins with dark spots and blotches; Tail Fin spots form bands.
Vouchers:
Tongareva: specimen+photo, NBSAP, 11/2001, G.McCormack with ID as Entomacrodus striatus, to BPBM, ID confirmed J.Randall, 5/2004. Manihiki: A958-35specimens as Entomacrodus plurifilis (B&M74).
