General Information

COMMON NAMES: Speckled Sandperch, Sharp-nosed Weever, Spotted Sandmelt; German Schwanzfleck-Sandbarsch; French Parapercis Ocellé, Parapercis Pintade

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Fiji - Cooks; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group. (PL) PLUS: Photo only PL (Grange and Singleton); Marine, near-shore

KEY FEATURES: Male has cheek-bars replacing dots, both sexes have dots on face.
