GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE India - Tuamotus; n. to s.Japan; s. to Lord Howe - Rapa

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - common; N.Group - common; Marine, near-shore; lagoons and outer-reef slope

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Good eating.

KEY FEATURES: To 30cm SL.
