GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE e.Africa - Tuamotus; n. to s.Japan; s. to New Caledonia

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; PLUS: Both Groups; common on outer slope and in deeper lagoons. Tuna baitfish.; Marine, near-shore

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Food fish
