GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Taiwan - Tuamotus; n. to s.Japan (Ryukyu Islands); s. to Sthn. Cooks

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - widespread; N.Group - widespread; Marine, near-shore deepbottom, 150-800m

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Excellent food
