General Information

COMMON NAMES: Surge Seahare

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE circumtropical

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, reef-flat

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Poisonous to eat some part

KEY FEATURES: Egg-shaped, 5x2cm, adhering firmly to the substrate. Warty, slimy skin; mottled gray, dark brown and cream, with similarly coloured cephalic tentacles (front pair) and rhinophores (hind pair). The parapodia closely attached, right overlapping left and opening only on posterior half of body.
