General Information

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of Cooks, 1-island; S.Group only (Rarotonga only); Land, inland valleys; under damp wood and leaves

KEY FEATURES: Shell with low, convex spire, 9x5mm[ØxH]. SHELL fragile, smooth, very brilliant, luteous-horny, w/wo a few whitish dots. REPRODUCTION give birth to live young (=viviparous).

SIMILAR SPECIES: See under Lamprocystis venosa, as possible subspecies.

Vouchers:
Rarotonga: specimens, report 1881 Garrett, as Microcystis subcicercula, specifically NOT found Mangaia, Atiu, & Aitutaki; NOT found, 2005/10, Fred Brook - status not known, and taxonomic status uncertain as Baker (1938, p.73-75) lists it as a subspecies of Lamprocystis venosa, in report 2005/11.
