GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE se.Polynesia (Cooks - Australs - ?)

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of se.Polynesia; S.Group - widespread, ?declining; Land, coastal and inland forest

SIMILAR SPECIES: Assiminea nitida has eye-lumps (vs. no lumps); and longer muzzle (vs. short muzzle).

Mangaia: specimens, 1865-69, "plentiful in all parts of the group [specifically Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Mangaia, Atiu]", Garrett with ID as Condrella striata Atiu: specimens, 1865-69, "plentiful in all parts of the group [specifically Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Mangaia, Atiu]", Garrett with ID as Condrella striata Mitiaro: live specimens+photo, 1995, everywhere except on coast, J.Craig with ID as Georissa sp. in thesis.
