General Information

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE w.Indian Ocean - se.Asia - Samoa - Cooks

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; S.Group - Rarotonga so far; N.Group ?; Land, coastal; under stones and leaves uppershore

KEY FEATURES: Helical almost cyclindical shell, 10x4mm(LxØ0. SHELL slightly tapering cylinder, with blunt, round apex; ribs strong; live colour orange, dead white.

Rarotonga: not reported by Garrett, 1881; not reported by J.Craig 1995, yet she searched Motutapu; specimens, 2005/10, only on Motutapu and Oneroa in Muri, Fred Brook rpt 2005/11 ID as Truncatella ?guerinii. Mitiaro: deadshell+photo in archaeological site only, 1995, J.Craig with ID as Truncatella rustica, which might be Truncatella guerinii [check further on status of Truncatella rustica, G.McCormack 2005/12].
