GENERAL NOTE: Cooke & Kondo (1960:207) suggest Lamellidea oblonga is native of Cook or Austral Islands and transported by the Polynesians with food plants to other parts of Polynesia, westward to Samoa and Tonga, and eastward to Societies and Marquesas; along with Tornatellides oblongus.

Rarotonga: specimens, reported 1881 Garrett, as Tornatellina oblonga, listed for Rarotonga, Mangaia, Atiu, & Aitutaki; specimens, 1994, under a Coconut Palm, on a Muri motu, and upland, J.Craig, as Lamellidea oblonga; specimens, 2005/10, coastal scrublands and remnant forests, Fred Brook as Lamellidea oblonga, in report 2005/11; specimens+photo, 2007/6, Tupapa on "paper box", G.McCormack with ID F.Brook as Lamellidea oblonga. Mangaia: specimens, reported 1881 Garrett, as Tornatellina oblonga, listed for Rarotonga, Mangaia, Atiu, & Aitutaki. Atiu: specimens, reported 1881 Garrett, as Tornatellina oblonga, listed for Rarotonga, Mangaia, Atiu, & Aitutaki. Mitiaro: specimens, 1994, one under a Coconut Palm & one at inland pool J.Craig, as Lamellidea oblonga. Aitutaki: specimens, reported 1881 Garrett, as Tornatellina oblonga, listed for Rarotonga, Mangaia, Atiu, & Aitutaki.
