COMMON NAMES: Golden Flesh-fly; German Fleishfliege

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: RANGE Vanuatu - Fiji - Marquesas; Galapagos; w.S.America

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; S.Group - very common; N.Group - very common; Land, lowlands - montane (at least 300m)

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Disease spreader, Nuisance

KEY FEATURES: Grey with black markings, 7-9mmBL. HEAD entire face golden. THORAX grey with 3 black stripes. ABDOMEN grey with black markings, 4th segment yellow; male genitalia yellow. WINGS clear.

SIMILAR SPECIES: Separated from other Cook Islands fleshflies by its yellow 4th abdominal segment.
