General Information

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native; Marine, near-shore, reef, benthic

KEY FEATURES: 15mm length. Black mantle with red stripe just inside (black) the mantle edge, also irregular sized, widely scattered white spots (pits?). Mantle free at margin, sits above visceral mass and foot which are pigmented as for mantle. Rhinophores black, club shaped. Pedestal of club ±translucent. Apex of club mucronate and white. Rhinophore lamellae (~10) posteriorly arise/converge along vertical line or groove. Gills posterior, pinnate arranged in a semicircle.
