SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Biocontrol - recorded 1975. Comments: Parasite of Serpentine Leaf-miner (Liriomyza brassicae), reared from same on Cabbage, Rarotonga 1975 (W&D79).

GENERAL NOTE: Thrip parasites. In this family the ovipositor is not only used for inserting eggs into potential hosts but also for making feeding punctures for the withdrawal of nutritive body juices. Many more punctures may be made than those for deposit of eggs and the punctures may be used by males also, they often result in the death of the host larva.
