GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: RANGE se.Asia - Micronesia, Cooks, Hawai‘i

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Introduced - Recent, Naturalised; Land, horticultural

SIGNIFICANCE LIST: Biocontrol - released 1975

KEY FEATURES: Dark ladybird to 2mmBL. FACE red. PRONOTUM black with some red anteriorly. WING-COVERS black with two large orange to orange-red blotches - one near anterior edge and one central, and a narrow single-double red stripe near outer margin.

POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Biocontrol - released 1975. Comments: Introduced from Reunion to Rarotonga 1973, for control of Chaff Scales (Parlatoria spp.). Known to be established. (W&D79)
