SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
POSITIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Biocontrol - first recorded 1975. Comments: Suggested as an introduction for control of the Citrus Rust Mite (Pyllococptruta). Counter suggestions that it is an ineffective control based on failures of previous efforts. Despite there being no records of purposeful introductions, collections were made from Citrus trees on Rarotonga in 1975. (W&D79)
