SIGNIFICANCE LIST: ; Pest???

SIMILAR SPECIES: Pheidole oceanica is distinguished by its larger size and darker sculpturing. P. megacephala is distinguished by the smooth, shiny head of the soldier ant, in contrast to the rugose head of the P. fervens soldier. (W&T67)
