General Information

COMMON NAMES: Zebrastripe Hawkfish; German Mononkel-Korallenwächter

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION: NATIVE Cooks, Tuamotus

COOK ISLANDS STATUS: Native, Endemic of se.Polynesia; S.Group - not recorded; N.Group - present.; Marine, near-shore, outer reef-slope

KEY FEATURES: Similar to the Arch-eyed Hawkfish, but having a bold black stripe above and below the posterior white stripe.

SIMILAR SPECIES: See under Arc-eye Hawkfish (Paracirrchites arcatus).
