Crocidolomia pavonana (Fabricius, 1794)
SYNONYMS: Crocidolomia binotalis Zeller
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Lepidoptera; PYRALIDAE. COMMENT: PYRALIDAE, probably the largest moth family, with over 25,000 described species, had two divisions: 'Pyraliform' and 'Crambiform' subfamilies, each with several subfamilies. In this database the divisions are accepted as two families: PYRALIDAE and CRAMBIDAE. The six PYRALIDAE subfamilies are: Endotrichinae, Chrysauginae, Galleriinae, Epipaschiinae, Phycitinae, and Peoriinae. The more than 17 CRAMBIDAE subfamilies include: Crambinae, Midilinae, Schoenobiinae, Cybalomiinae, Linostinae, Nymphulinae, Evergestinae, Musotiminae, Scopariinae, Pyraustinae, Odontiinae, Dichogaminae, Spilomelinae, and Glaphyriinae. Sometimes the subfamilies are raised to family status whereby Phycitinae is PHYCITIDAE.
GENERAL NOTE: Pest on cabbage.
