SYNONYMS: Phalaena xylostella Linnaeus, 1758; Plutella maculipennis (Curtis, 1832)
TAXONOMY: ANIMALIA; ARTHROPODA; ATELOCERATA; HEXAPODA; INSECTA; PTERYGOTA; Lepidoptera; PLUTELLIDAE. COMMENT: Sometimes placed in YPONOMEUTIDAE.
SIGNIFICANCE NOTES -
NEGATIVE SIGNIFICANCE: Serious pest. Comments: Exclusive on family BRASSICACEAE - including broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, radish, turnip, and watercress.

Rarotonga: Dugdale List99; Pukapuka: fieldspecimen+photo, 2/2004, at house light, G.McCormack, with tentative ID as Plutella xylostella.
